PETER GREEN- Heavy Heart

Before the ladies joined, Fleetwood Mac was a kick ass heavy blues band with one of the best, if not the best, English blues players at the time, Peter Green.  He had an amazing guitar tone and as the band went on, a real talent for writing unusual and experimental blues based songs.

At a certain point he got burnt out with the music biz and left Fleetwood Mac, some say heavy drug use played a major part in his deteriorating mental ability to cope with being in a famous, heavily touring band. He definitely looks a little fried in this video.

This song is from his first solo album after leaving FM and epitomizes what he was trying to do to create a new urban blues sound.  Its sparse and tribal sounding and kinda creeps me out, but in a good way. I like that he turns the wah effect on his guitar on for the first time about 3 seconds before the song ends.
