Suzi Quatro- Breakdown
Remember when Suzi was a character on Happy Days? It was towards the end of the show's run and I think she was supposed to be the Fonz's little sister or something. Its too bad thats how most Americans got to know her, her records are cool but never did very well here in the US. I think she might be out there still doing music, a few years ago I heard she had a new album or radio show, but even if thats not the case at least she still gets to go around saying she's Suzi Quatro.
This is her doing a live cover of Tom Petty's "Breakdown" and she kills it! She takes the original version and kicks it up a few notches just based on her attitude alone. Wonder what Petty would think of this?

I think Tom would like it! She looks so young and so....innocent. Not the Joan Jett kind of female rocker.
ReplyDeleteOh, and on Happy Days she was Fonz's girlfriends little sister...Pinky and Leather Tuscadaro or something.
Leather Tuscadero, I remember now! A friend just saw this video and pointed out that her moves are kinda Gene Simmons-esque. I think he might be right. Check out the stiff foot stomp at 1:06 and at 2:12. Yes?
ReplyDeleteShe is a hot babe! Any idea what she is doing now?
ReplyDeleteI love that pint size powerhouse in her leather jumpsuits and crazy heels and platforms, what a cutey!
ReplyDeleteShe was Pinky Tuscaderos little sister Leather Tuscadero. She's from Detroit and was in a garage band The Pleasure Seekers with her sister Patti and three other girls. They had some minor regional hits including What A Way To Die which is about the delights of boozin'- Suzi was 15 and her sister was17. Patti ended up as a member of Fanny, another all girl band who made 3 or 4 albums in the 70's. Suzi still plays tours alone and with her sister and looks pretty good too.
About the comment about the Gene/Kiss style boot stomp. Who knows who took who's style because they were contemporaries during the glam years. Platforms are made for stompin, 1 to keep the circulation going and 2 it's a hot move. Besides I'd rather watch Suzi stompin it any day of the week.
